Peter McPhee is a Senior Program Director at the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) where he has focused on establishing low-carbon pathways for the Commonwealth’s buildings since 2013. Peter championed MassCEC’s $60 million commitment to its Clean Heating & Cooling Programs, which supported over 20,000 projects in transitioning away from fossil fuel use for heating and hot water. Recently, Peter has been facilitating the technology, system, and market solutions necessary to help Massachusetts reach its aggressive decarbonization obligations in buildings, primarily through widespread whole-building electrification. Peter is a mechanical engineer by training with a B.S. from the University of Massachusetts and an M.S. from the Johns Hopkins University. He previously worked in wind energy. Peter has pledged to decarbonize his home and personal transportation by 2023.
