Sahara manages and contributes to a broad range of Kinetic Communities community-based planning, economic development, and sustainability projects. In doing so, she works closely with community-based organizations and coalitions across New York City to provide them with technical assistance and advocacy support to advance their efforts to make their neighborhoods more sustainable and socioeconomically equitable.
She also helps local non-profits engage local stakeholders in participatory planning processes that aim to give traditionally marginalized groups a bigger voice in shaping the future of their communities. Sahara is skilled in environmental engineering consulting and project management. Sahara's interests specifically include building retrofitting and energy efficiency with a focus on municipal infrastructure.
