Phil Fung is a pioneering figure in sustainable, regenerative, and resilient building design. As the creator of Positive Building Design, he has redefined the built environment with innovative, net-positive solutions that ensure a habitable planet for future generations. A licensed Consulting Engineer in Ontario, Phil founded SRS Consulting Engineers in 1999, spearheading transformative projects that integrate biomimetic, biophilic, and bio-synergistic principles. Since 2012, he has been a professor at Humber Polytechnic, shaping the next generation of sustainability leaders. Named 2025 Licensed Professional of the Year, Phil’s NSERC-funded research, including Zero Energy Food Sheds (2nd place, 2023 Research Project of the Year), has set new benchmarks in biophilic design, food sovereignty, and human well-being. A respected thought leader, he continues to drive the future of sustainable architecture and engineering.
