Harvey Michaels teaches energy management strategy and mentors students for the MIT Sloan Sustainability Initiative; and as well is Principal Investigator of the MIT Cities and Climate Engagement Project. Harvey advises cities including Boston and Cambridge, as well as Massachusetts utilities on community energy efficiency and climate action. He also serves on the US DoE Energy Systems Integration Advisory Board, and previously was a board member for EMeter/Siemens Digital Grid and CSG/ClearResult. Previously he led two energy efficiency-related companies providing services and analytics: Aclara Software which created engagement and transaction applications for electric grid market operators, utilities, and government agencies; and XENERGY (now DNV-GL) which specializes in efficiency services, financing, and strategic consulting. He has degrees in Engineering and Environmental Planning from MIT.
