Dietmar Rieg is the President and CEO of the GACC, which was founded in New York in 1947 and has grown to be one of the largest German bilateral chambers of commerce worldwide. From 1993 to 2005, Mr. Rieg represented Bayern LB in various positions in New York City. From 2006 to 2008, he shifted to the bank’s headquarters in Munich, where he was responsible for the corporate banking business in multiple industries, including energy and telecommunications. He returned to New York in 2008 to take the position of CEO of Bayern LB’s subsidiary office. His move into the leadership of the GACC is a welcomed challenge, Mr. Rieg is an economist with a degree from the University of Tuebingen, Germany and also holds an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
