Craig Whitaker graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts degree where he was a student and teaching assistant under the renowned architect and professor, Astra Zarina. Through her encouragement, he spent time in Italy studying monumental and vernacular buildings, and then went on to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for a Master of Architecture degree. While at MIT, Craig received design awards and recognitions of excellence. Craig and Don joined forces in 1997 to form Mills Whitaker Architects. Craig and his wife Laura, also with Mills Whitaker, spend a good part of each year in Paris France.
