Christopher Till, P.E., has served as Manchester’s Facilities Project Manager since 2008 overseeing the planning, development, and management of facilities operations, maintenance, capital construction, and renovation programs for both the Town and the Board of Education. During his tenure, Chris has led the transformation and consolidation from ten K-5 elementary schools in 2012 down to the district's six K-4 elementary schools and the expanded 5-6 Bennet Academy. In 2022, Manchester received the Sustainable CT Silver Certification and opened Buckley Elementary School, the first verified Net Zero Energy public school in both Connecticut and New England. Manchester’s 2nd NZE Bowers Elementary opened September 2023 and the final NZE Keeney Elementary just opened August 2024. Chris currently leads the design of the New Manchester Public Library, a 78,000 sq. ft. fully electric, Net Zero Energy-ready facility featuring geothermal heat pumps, bifacial PV, and battery storage. Chris is also spearheading the DOE-funded feasibility study for a thermal energy network (TEN) to bring a distributed geothermal energy loop to the Main Street corridor. Chris is a registered Professional Engineer in Connecticut, with a Master of Science in Environmental & Water Resources Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Tufts University.
