Andrew Chintz develops and implements programs at the intersection of finance and building decarbonization. His approach is enhanced by a seasoned career spanning 35 years as a senior level municipal and real estate finance expert, primarily in diverse roles at MBIA, a municipal bond insurer.
Mr. Chintz is currently the Financing Specialist for the NYC Accelerator which provides technical assistance to building owners and other stakeholders to meet the City’s building decarbonization laws. Previously, he led Demand Aggregation for NYSERDA’s RetrofitNY initiative, which adapts the European “Energiesprong” manufactured building component model to drive scalable, net zero energy building solutions for affordable housing. Mr. Chintz was also instrumental in developing and launching NYS’s PACE program as a founding Board member of the Energy Improvement Corporation.
Mr. Chintz holds several board and officer positions for non-profit and municipal community development organizations. Mr. Chintz received a B.A. from Connecticut College, an M.S. from Columbia University in historic preservation/urban planning, and a Certificate in Sustainability Finance from Columbia University.
