BR+A specializes in the mechanical design of low carbon high performance healthcare and life sciences developments. This presentation examines the application of Passive House principles to a long-term healthcare facility (Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke Long-Term Care Project) and healthcare facilities, in general,  to understand how Passive House principles could be applied to these high energy intensity typologies where required airflow rates can be 5-10x greater than typical commercial offices. This session will share findings of some of our analysis and propose best practices for these typologies.
