Breaking the Design Bubble: Community Engagement and Youth Empowerment

To Build the Movement we must break open the design bubble to allow room for growth, expansion, and inclusion, and—fundamentally—to strengthen human connections. To do this, we must diversify the profession, broaden our definition of “experts”, and ensure that design responses are socially equitable, while drawing upon the vast knowledge and creativity inherent in communities. Join us for an interactive session expanding on the morning's keynote, unpacking barriers and opportunities for community engagement, learning how to uplift and include voices, exploring project examples, and hearing how one non-profit empowers diverse youth to build a thriving, just, and equitable future.
