I began working in construction while attending college and received a bachelor's degree in Passive Solar Design in 1981. I left NY to obtain my Master's in Architecture in Colorado. I worked with several architecture firms in Colorado, moved to Boston, and worked with design firms there before settling in Western Massachusetts, where I happily continue to design beautiful, high-performance buildings. As vice President and Senior Project Architect for Dietz & Company Architects until November 2019, I have designed high-performance housing, commercial, and institutional buildings in the region for 30 years.

As technical advocates, convenors, and facilitators, we work collaboratively with industry market actors – governments, utilities, manufacturers, building professionals, climate and efficiency advocates, community-based organizations, and others to drive leading-edge strategies, innovative technologies and best practices in policies and programs.
New Ecology
The mission of New Ecology is to catalyze sustainable development and bring its benefits to under-served populations, and to maintain a focus on acting locally to address global environmental issues. We work in many areas of community-based sustainable development, but we devote most of our efforts to green, affordable housing. Thirty years ago, we started New Energy Works Timberframing, a small timber frame company. Today, along with our sister company, Pioneer Millworks, we employ over 120 designers, timberwrights, engineers, craftspeople, and community members. Together, we design and build some of the most lyrical and efficient timber frames in the industry, using reclaimed timbers, energy-efficient enclosure systems, environmentally responsible practices, and state-of-the-art technology and software.
