Position Overview

As the Lead Carpenter/Site Supervisor, you will be the point person on the jobsite, managing and directing all crew members and subcontractors on-site to ensure efficiency, quality, and adherence to project timelines. This role requires a strong balance of hands-on carpentry skills and leadership abilities to keep projects on track and within budget.

The right candidate will have:

minimum of 6 years of experience in the custom residential construction, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
expert knowledge of framing, finish carpentry, and general construction techniques
strong communication skills and ability to work professionally with clients, crew members, and subcontractors
ability to manage a team, delegate tasks, and maintain a positive jobsite culture;
excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
reliable, construction-appropriate transportation
Maine Driver’s License in good standing

Key responsibilities include:

lead and manage a crew of 2-4 carpenters, ensuring productivity, teamwork, and high-quality workmanship
set a positive example by supporting all crew members, fostering a collaborative work environment, and maintaining professionalism
facilitate a brief (2-5 min.) daily crew meeting to clarify tasks, answer questions, and ensure accurate time tracking
participate in and/or lead weekly on-site team meetings to review progress and address any project concerns
coordinate with the Project Manager to schedule subcontractors, ensuring they have necessary on-site support and are informed of any schedule changes
assist the Project Manager in preparing a weekly materials and jobsite stock list, minimizing unnecessary supplier trips
work with the Project Manager to track and adhere to project schedules, promptly communicating any anticipated delays
maintain detailed job logs in JobTread and keep the project team informed of important developments
assist with oversight of required building inspections to ensure compliance with regulations
ensure timely completion of punch lists and job close-out tasks
maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite at all times

Compensation & Benefits:

This is a full-time position (35-40 hours per week) offering:
Competitive pay (commensurate with experience)
Paid Time Off: Up to 80 hours in the first year, increasing with tenure
Paid holidays: 8 standard paid holidays plus 4 additional days between Christmas and New Year’s
